Le Schpountz
They thought they were playing a prank on some crazy guy, but they stumbled upon a Schpountz unlike any other.
Irénée is a humble young grocer working in his uncle’s shop on the outskirts of Marseille. He is convinced that he has a natural talent and dreams of becoming a movie star. A team of Parisian filmmakers passing through the area to scout locations, amused by the pretensions of this “Schpountz,” sign him to a fake acting contract. Filled with pride and deaf to the warnings of his loved ones, Irénée, contract in hand, heads to Paris and shows up at the studios.
A family comedy that has achieved cult status, paying a vibrant tribute to laughter and bringing audiences the smiles and tears they need to live.
